The incident happened at Fairfax Drive and N. Quincy Street just before 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, city spokeswoman Ashley Savage said.
ARL Now reports that the man was trespassing and climbing a rope before he fell eight stories.
The man was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, Savage said.
The Arlington County Police Department is conducting a death investigation and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. The investigation has not revealed an ongoing threat to the community.
